Hannah designs and farms for a living so you are getting a hands-on experience at an inspiring site where there is always another permaculture design on the horizon. However, permaculture is not just about gardening, farming or growing food: it is a design process underpinned by the Permaculture principles and ethics.

Start Date:
Saturday, May 6, 2017 - 10:00
End Date:
Sunday, November 5, 2017 - 18:00

Preserving the Harvest

On this two day course you will reap and forage all the main ingredients for our shared meals. All foraged food from the Inkpot's abundant land will be brought back to the kitchen. We will then work together to preserve the harvest. This will cover such techniques as fermentation (from cider to sauerkraut); drying (apple and pear rings); jams, chutneys, pickling, oils and bottling. There will be lots of sampling along the way.

Start Date:
Saturday, October 21, 2017 - 09:30
End Date:
Sunday, October 22, 2017 - 16:30

Off-grid Photovoltaic (PV) solar set-up

Andy Reynolds is a long term practitioner of low impact living and runs the family home in the Fens from wind, solar and wood. This one day course is the perfect opportunity to get involved in building a small solar PV system. It will cover both off grid battery and grid connected systems. Discussion and observation will be woven through the practical sessions, with the opportunity at the end of the installation to ask Andy any questions related to your specific application.
